The Grants Centre of Excellence (CoE) website is a single point of access to policy, guidance, templates, latest news, and access to training to support civil servants and the wider public sector through the six step grants process. All government grants practitioners can access the website and can join the Grants Community of Practice via the specific COP page.

Grants Competency Framework Self Assessment Tool
This tool has been developed to support grant practitioners with their learning within grant management. The tool is aligned with the core competencies identified in the Grants Competency Framework and allows the practitioner to determine learning needs based on their strengths and areas of development.

Grants Licence to Practise
The Grants Licence to Practise is a comprehensive course. This five day residential programme is designed to equip a grants practitioner with the confidence and expertise to manage grant schemes across the grants lifecycle. It is suitable for new, inexperienced grant makers. Following successful completion of the course, the practitioner will take an assessment in order to become an accredited grants practitioner.
Coming soon – The GGMF will be offering a brand new online course, known as Licence to Practise Online Pathway (LtPOP). This course will cover the same content and learning objectives as the residential course, but in a more self-directed and knowledge based format. It is specifically for those with existing expertise wanting to consolidate their knowledge.

Spotlight automates grant and contract due diligence checks, enabling government funding to be distributed faster and more efficiently. In Spotlight you can run checks on any UK limited company, charity, sole trader or non-limited partnership as well as non-UK based organisations.
By providing real time information from a range of government and commercial data sources, Spotlight allows you to easily risk assess a supplier or grant applicant including any linked directors, companies and beneficial owners.

Spotlight Confidential
Spotlight Confidential is a programme that aims to provide improved capability for HMG users that broadens existing due diligence checks carried out using Spotlight to broaden national security checks. The national security checks will inform users’ responses in relation to assessing risks posed by entities of interest, including preventing government funding being used by those who wish to do the UK and its interests harm

Government Grants Managed Services
A two-year programme to pilot a technology-enabled, end-to-end managed service for grants management. It delivers a Government Grants Managed Service that provides the set-up, management and delivery of grant awards and related processes (e.g. competitions) with no extra cost to participating departments/schemes during the pilot phase.
